Design | Digbeth

Design and project management of signwriting and signage for The Courtyard, inside the Custard Factory. Only in Digbeth.

It’s important to respect any pre-existing brand guidelines your client may have, and this was true of Digbeth when we were tasked with designing and organising the implementation of new signage to draw people in to The Courtyard inside the Custard Factory.

Digbeth already had strong brand guidelines, with a custom font too. It was key that we understood and utilised this font within the brand parameters to create these high impact handwritten signs.

It was all a collaboration between ourselves – we designed all signage – and two very talented local artists. The lettering/signwriting by Jim, at Seven 9 Signs – mega talented signwriter with the steadiest hand in the West (Midlands).

And the Monstera foliage was applied by the resident Custard Factory Graffiti Artist, Panda of Graffiti Artist

Chuck in a few updated wall hung lightbox designs and it’s a success all round!

It definitely brings attention to the previously uninviting and run down tunnel through which you have to pass to enter ‘The Courtyard’. And the design went down so well we were even asked to provide a vinyl wrapped table for the office!

If you haven’t been to the Courtyard yet, go check it out – beer, food, cafes, games, cinema, and much more!
